Within minutes, there is access to all the shopping and amenties of the greater Vaughan area, but nearby are No Frills, Longo’s, and the Carrville Food Centre for groceries.  For more general shopping, there is the Promenade Shopping Centre and Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre, one of Canada’s largest.  Adjacent to it is the country’s foremost theme park, Canada’s Wonderland, which features rides, entertainment and restaurants on 330 acres.  Also nearby are the Kortright and Boyd conservation areas, which offer facilities for hiking, picnics, and are popular wedding venues; they also offer workshops on environmental developments and are well-attended field trip destinations for school classes.

Just south of the 407 are the Uplands Golf & Country Club, and the Thornhill Golf Course.

Medical services are provided by the York Central Hospital in nearby Richmond Hill, and residents also use the North York General Hospital in north central Toronto.

There is GO Train service at the Rutherford and Langstaff stations, although driving to the many attractions throughout the GTA and into Metro Toronto is easy via several major arteries and the 407/400/404 highways.
